Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in El Paso is seeking a Nurse V, serving as the Assistant Chief Nurse Executive (SH). The incumbent oversees the nursing department at the El Paso Psychiatric Center, ensures quality care, staffing, compliance with regulations, and collaborates with medical staff and department heads.

The role involves directing nurse managers, hiring and developing staff, and implementing corrective actions and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Five (5) years of experience in direct nursing practice.
• Three (3) years’ experience as an administrative nurse with supervisory authority.
• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas (or a state with reciprocity).

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the nursing department and staffing.
• Directs and oversees nurse managers and supervises nursing staff.
• Develops, reviews and revises nursing policies and procedures; ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties and supports disaster response and COOP activation.
