Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Austin, Texas is seeking a Senior Nuclear Test Engineer to develop test methods, write procedures, and execute tests that support reactor development. You will translate engineering requirements into measurable acceptance criteria and produce traceable evidence of component performance and readiness.

This hands-on role covers test setup through execution, analysis, and reporting, collaborating with design, instrumentation, manufacturing, operations, Quality, and EHS to advance

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (nuclear/mechanical/electrical/chemical) or related field.
• At least five years of hands-on engineering experience with nuclear components or systems.
• Experience developing and executing tests for physical hardware or integrated systems.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance and design-control practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop test methods and write procedures mapping engineering requirements to measurable acceptance criteria.
• Design, procure, assemble, and commission fixtures, test stands, and supporting equipment for multi-physics testing.
• Plan and execute performance, endurance, environmental, transient, and failure-mode testing; support FAT/SAT and commissioning.
• Specify measurements (temperature, pressure, flow, force, displacement, strain, vibration, electrical) and integrate sensors and data acquisition.
• Maintain and update testing procedures to ensure audit readiness and traceability.
• Lead test setup verification, shakedown, operation, post-test inspection, and deviation analysis.
• Analyze results with uncertainty awareness and prepare technical reports comparing results to acceptance criteria.
