Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Senior Test Engineer in Austin, TX to build and evolve experimental systems that accelerate reactor development. You will prototype hardware, design test rigs, and run campaigns that generate credible data for design, safety, and manufacturability.

You’ll collaborate across mechanical, chemical, and nuclear engineering, operations, and lab teams to turn questions into validated measurements, while maintaining rigorous safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering required or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on prototyping and hardware skills.
• Experience turning concepts into working test setups.
• Ability to design and execute experiments with instrumentation.
• Experience with safety, traceability, and documentation in labs.

Responsibilities

• Design, assemble, and iterate physical test setups from benchtop to complex rigs.
• Own test execution from concept to data capture and analysis.
• Develop tests for mechanical, thermal, and chemical systems.
• Instrument prototypes and log data with reliable controls.
• Troubleshoot hardware, leaks, and setup issues to maintain momentum.
