Job summary

Antares in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to lead design, analysis, and development of critical reactor structures, including core restraint, PHX vessel supports, and safety-significant components. You will ensure performance and contribute across design reviews.

You will collaborate with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing and procurement teams, perform FEM, hand calculations, and support testing, qualification, and deployment while staying compliant with applicable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and developing structural systems for demanding applications.
• Experience with hand calculations, material selection, bolted and welded joint design, and load-path development.
• Proficiency with FEA tools to evaluate structural performance, stress, deformation, fatigue, and thermal loading.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses to size and optimize reactor structural components.
• Define system architecture, operating limits, margins, and CONOPS for reliable performance.
• Develop engineering documentation to support design reviews, verification, and licensing.
• Lead testing activities and develop test articles, fixtures, instrumentation plans, and validation procedures.
