Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Safety Analysis Engineer in its Nuclear Services group to develop safety analysis work products supporting licensing, design basis and operability of nuclear facilities. This role offers flexible locations including Huntsville, AL.

You will prepare calculations and licensing documents, build computer models using GOTHIC, RELAP, RETRAN and MAAP, and perform shielding and radiological/environmental assessments. Travel to plant sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of safety analysis experience in a nuclear environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to plant sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, evaluations, engineering change packages and licensing documents for safety analysis licensing submittals.
• Develop computer models to address problems using thermal hydraulics codes (GOTHIC, RELAP, RETRAN, MAAP).
• Perform shielding and radiological evaluations for environmental qualification and safety.
• Develop nuclear fuels and criticality analyses for core design and spent fuel.
• Perform atmospheric dispersion, deposition and plume analyses for environmental effects.
• Support client reviews, NRC audits, and business development activities.
