Job summary

Radiant, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Senior Safety Analysis Engineer to lead reactor safety analyses supporting Kaleidos design, testing, and deployment. You will evaluate behavior under normal and accident conditions, quantify uncertainties, and document results to inform design choices and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of reactor safety analysis, thermal-hydraulics, or related experience.
• Experience with reactor systems/safety analysis codes (RELAP5-3D, TRACE, SAM, MELCOR).
• Strong understanding of reactor thermal-hydraulics, transient behavior, heat transfer, and safety analysis.
• Knowledge of reactor physics, fuel performance, fission product behavior, and radiological safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead deterministic reactor safety analyses for operational occurrences, transients, and accidents.
• Develop system-level thermal-hydraulic and transient models to evaluate reactor response and margins.
• Perform source term and radiological consequence analyses including fuel performance and dose evaluations.
• Evaluate uncertainties and sensitivities in reactor models and safety conclusions.
• Prepare calculation packages, safety analyses, and regulatory documentation.
