Job summary
Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated mechanical engineer for the Advanced Mechanical Design group to work on the concept design of the next reactor core. You will collaborate with world-class engineers, scientists, researchers and technicians to help ensure safety and reliability while joining the early-stage design efforts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical/engineering/science field with minimum 6 years of relevant experience;
- Masters degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience;
- Doctorate with minimum 1 year of relevant experience;
- Current senior reactor training or related engineer at the company.
Responsibilities
- Develop reactor core design concepts and perform structural evaluations.
- Use first-principles tools up to detailed analyses with modern structural codes.
- Collaborate with diverse teams across Knolls and Bettis sites; communicate with stakeholders.
- Mentor, train, and guide younger engineers; contribute to manufacturing development.
