Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced engineer to provide technical leadership within the Exams Projects unit, delivering systems-level design for examinations of spent nuclear fuel and radiological materials. The role interfaces with Naval Reactors, Architect/Engineer firms, and Construction Manager to drive value-based decisions.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 4+ years, or a Doctorate with 1+ year, or currently hold a senior engineer role at the company.

Responsibilities

• Produce integrated and value-based solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems considering project constraints and stakeholder inputs.
• Provide technical design support to ensure designs are cost effective and meet project requirements.
• Develop and mentor project team members.
• Set the strategic orientation for the unit's portfolio of work.
• Integrate program equipment and processes into detailed design, including exam equipment, radiological controls, and waste handling.
