Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Lead Auditor to own the nuclear QA audit program written to ASME NQA-1. You will plan the annual audit schedule, lead internal and supplier audits with a team of auditors and technical specialists, write audit reports, and verify corrective actions to closure.

On projects you are the licensee's quality organization auditor; you will have independence, the authority to stop nonconforming work, and travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance, with hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• ASQ CQA a plus; Writes audit reports that NRC inspector could follow without explanation.
• Experience with construction materials testing, special inspection, or geotechnical services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program; internal audits and supplier audits.
• Lead audits end to end — notification, checklist, entrance meeting, objective evidence, findings, exit meeting, report.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items and services; recommend changes to approved-supplier-list.
• Perform surveillances; classify findings; issue corrective-action requests; verify effectiveness and close actions.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records; support owner, licensee, and NUPIC-style audits.
