Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Nuclear Project Planner to support client projects across energy sectors. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance, modifications, and outages with multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop work packages, review procurement needs, and ensure alignment with safety and regulatory requirements while improving planning processes and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of prior experience in project planning and scheduling.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical/ trade experience.
• Nuclear construction experience is preferred.
• Strong background in project execution with a track record of delivering projects on time and safely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Detail-oriented and organized with a strategic mindset for scheduling challenges.
• Proficiency in computer applications and planning software.
• Previous unescorted security access to a Nuclear Plant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare comprehensive work instructions guiding workgroups in corrective and preventive maintenance, surveillance, and modifications.
• Evaluate and approve material procurement for work packages.
• Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials for planned work packages.
• Coordinate notifications, permits, and regulatory documentation to support package preparation.
• Verify work instructions comply with station procedures and safety standards.
• Review and approve all work packages to meet safety, quality, and technical standards.
• Develop and revise maintenance procedures to improve work package quality.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data for efficient and safe work plans.
• Implement project controls processes to ensure effective project management.
• Monitor progress and identify risks with mitigation strategies.
• Work with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to optimize timelines and resources.
• Conduct field walk-downs and coordinate with various teams to address issues.
