Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Nuclear Project Planner to support our clients in delivering safe, reliable power. This hybrid role will be based in Knoxville, with three days in the office and two remote days.

You will develop work instructions, manage procurement for work packages, coordinate permits and regulatory documentation, and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and program managers to ensure safe, on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of project planning experience.
• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical /trade experience.
• Nuclear constructor experience preferred.
• Strong background in project execution and delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Detail-oriented and organized with scheduling foresight.
• Conversant in planning software and computer applications.
• Prev unescorted security access to a Nuclear Plant is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare comprehensive work instructions guiding workgroups in corrective/preventive maintenance, surveillance, and modification implementation.
• Evaluate and approve material procurement recommendations for work packages.
• Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials for planned work packages.
• Coordinate out-of-service notifications, permits for welding/grinding, and regulatory/documentation requirements for package preparation.
• Verify the adequacy and compliance of work instructions with station procedures.
• Review and approve all required work packages to meet safety, quality, and technical standards.
• Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to improve work package development while ensuring codes and vendor recommendations are followed.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather data and develop efficient, safe work plans.
• Implement project controls processes and tools to ensure effective project management.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Work with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to optimize timelines and resource use.
• Conduct field walk-downs to identify activities and address issues, collaborating with multiple functions.
