Job summary

System One seeks a highly experienced Nuclear Engineer V – Mechanical for a long-term contract in Ohio. The role focuses on PWR/BWR design, plant modifications, and safety/reliability improvements at major nuclear facilities. Requires 15+ years of engineering experience and 8+ years in commercial nuclear power.

Responsibilities include engineering calculations, feasibility studies, system upgrades, and client presentations. Travel to client sites and ability to pass screenings are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of direct commercial nuclear power plant experience.
• Strong background in PWR and/or BWR design and plant operations.
• Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, drawings, and technical packages.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced mechanical engineering expertise to design, operation, and modification of PWR/BWR nuclear plant systems.
• Perform calculations, feasibility studies, and evaluations to resolve reliability concerns and improve performance.
• Develop and implement system modifications/upgrades to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Prepare and defend modification packages during reviews.
• Interface with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors to drive solutions.
• Ensure compliance with NRC regulations and industry standards.
• Review and quality-check calculations, drawings, and data.
• Prepare technical presentations and participate in client meetings.
