Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a senior mechanical/chemical engineer with at least 12 years in the nuclear power industry to design, review, and optimize plant systems. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to lead project teams on modifications and evaluations.

You will develop cost estimates, interface with clients at sites or offices, and contribute to vendor bid evaluations and technical specifications for plant equipment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfers.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options/evaluations for modifications to operating plants.
• Lead engineering project teams.
