Join Sargent & Lundy in a hybrid role focused on nuclear power plant systems design and modification work. You will prepare or review modification packages, create functional mechanical drawings, and conduct engineering analyses to support plant operations.

The role also involves developing cost estimates, interfacing with clients at site locations, and leading engineering project teams. Strong ABET- accredited degree and 5+ years in power are required, with PE beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfers.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and review packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating nuclear plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client offices or plant sites to interface with clients and present engineering work and status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
