Job summary

X-energy is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Rockville, Maryland, to translate nuclear component designs into manufacturable products. This role involves heavy component manufacturing and process optimization, requiring hands-on vendor management and oversight during fabrication.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and hands-on experience in hardware development in a production environment. Industry competitiveness and collaboration with engineering teams and vendors are key aspects of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, nuclear, aerospace, chemical or related field required.
• Proficiency in engineering hand calculations is required.
• One plus years of hands-on experience in hardware or manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/physical concepts and support development of processes.
• Plan and perform the analysis of SSCs to meet technical specifications.
• Write design documentation in accordance with applicable procedures.

Mechanical Design

Proficiency with engineering hand calculations

CAD software proficiency

Heavy component manufacturing experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline

Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience
