Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking Nuclear Maintenance Technicians to perform mechanical maintenance, assembly, disassembly and repair of nuclear plant equipment. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain reliability and safe operations.

The position requires HS diploma, several years of related experience, and specialized skills in HVAC, CNC machining, and instrumentation/electrical aptitude, with strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED).
• Three (3) years of directly related experience.
• Five (5) years’ work experience in mechanical, welding/pipe fitting, rotating equipment, HVAC, or valve maintenance.
• Two-year technical school degree, or equivalent experience or training (e.g. military).
• CNC machining skills and experience.
• HVAC experience, with Universal EPA certification.
• Demonstrated proficiency utilizing advanced computer skills.
• Demonstrated experience with safety processes, administrative and technical procedures.
• Proven instrumentation/electrical aptitude.
• Effective written and verbal communication, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing processes and environments.
