Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company in Oak Harbor, Ohio seeks a Major Projects Licensing Engineer to lead licensing activities for power uprates at nuclear facilities. You will provide oversight of contract resources, support licensing submittals, and coordinate with engineering and project teams through all phases, from scoping to NRC approval and site implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of nuclear industry experience.
• Experience with major regulatory licensing actions preferred.
• Full Certifications for 10 CFR 50.59 and 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations required.
• Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, nuclear plant systems, and environmental reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of major project licensing activities including development, review, approval and submittal of license amendments and other regulatory correspondence.
• Support regulatory acceptance, review and approval of license amendments and other regulatory submittals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for plant changes necessary for project implementation.
• Support environmental reviews associated with major licensing actions.
• Support Vistra and contract engineering personnel to ensure quality and completeness of engineering deliverables necessary for licensing actions.
• Oversee contract EPCs responsible for development of licensing-related deliverables.
• Coordinate licensing activities with EPCs, OEMs, and project and site engineering.
• Travel as needed to industry meetings, Vistra sites, vendor facilities and NRC as required
