Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company is seeking a Major Projects Licensing Engineer for its Oak Harbor, Ohio operations. The role leads licensing activities for power uprates, guiding contract resources and coordinating with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering departments.

This senior position requires a strong background in nuclear licensing, NRC regulations, and environmental reviews, with a proven track record in developing and approving licensing submittals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program required.
• Minimum of 10 years of nuclear industry experience required, including design engineering and nuclear licensing experience.
• Full Certifications for 10 CFR 50.59 and 10 CFR 72.48 evaluations required.
• Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, nuclear plant systems, and environmental reviews.
• Prior Experience with industry codes and standards, regulatory guidance documents, required.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of major project licensing activities including development, review, approval and submittal of license amendments and other regulatory correspondence.
• Support regulatory acceptance, review and approval of license amendments and other regulatory submittals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for plant changes necessary for project implementation.
• Support environmental reviews associated with major licensing actions.
• Support Vistra and contract engineering personnel to ensure quality and completeness of engineering deliverables necessary for licensing actions.
• Oversee contract EPCs responsible for development of licensing-related deliverables.
• Coordinate licensing activities with EPCs, OEMs, and project and site engineering.
• Travel as needed to industry meetings, Vistra sites, vendor facilities and NRC as required.
