Job summary

Quest Defense Systems and Solutions seeks a Lead Nuclear Digital Instrumentation & I&C IV&V Engineer to lead verification and validation activities for complex nuclear control systems. This role defines what to verify, how to test, and what evidence is needed to demonstrate compliance.

You will collaborate across software, hardware, firmware, FPGA, systems, quality, and project teams, evaluating performance and identifying risks. Willingness to relocate to Boise–Nampa or travel ~50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience with V&V strategies for complex systems.
• Experience with test plans, procedures, reports, and requirements traceability.
• Strong configuration management and evidence-based testing.
• Willingness to travel extensively (onsite assignments).

Responsibilities

• Lead IV&V activities for nuclear digital I&C systems.
• Translate requirements into verification objectives and tests.
• Perform, witness, and evaluate testing across components and systems.
• Evaluate results to determine if requirements are met.
• Identify risks and drive issue resolution and closure.
• Document deficiencies and support investigations and retests.
• Lead or support Factory Acceptance Testing and technical reviews.
• Communicate test status and findings to customers and leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and testers.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, FPGA, quality, and management teams.
