Job summary

ENERCON's Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering Unit for the Nuclear Division, delivering projects on time and within budget while upholding high quality standards. Locations include Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH, with travel up to 25% to client sites and ENERCON offices.

Responsibilities include staff mentorship, continuous improvement, and strong client engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of design engineering experience in the commercial nuclear industry.
• Active PE license.
• Experience with design of power plant systems.
• Experience with Extended Power Uprate (EPU) modifications or other large-scale project is desired.
• Knowledge of applicable government codes and industry standards.
• Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills; comfortable and effective communicator with staff, clients (internal and external), management, etc.
• Strong technical writing, attention to detail, and human performance skills.
• Strong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams.
• Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriate.
• Ability to motivate team members and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals.
• Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
• Travel up to 25+% of the time to client sites for project meetings, marketing meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering Unit to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
• Mentor staff, inspire innovation, and build future leaders while strengthening client relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure project budgets and schedules are met.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve engineering issues; coordinate with SMEs as needed.
• Support business development and client engagement, including proposals and market assessment.
