Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team in support of a growing nuclear market. You will provide technical leadership, review 3D design outputs, and ensure safe, cost-effective, and compliant deliverables for complex projects.

Based in Lenexa, KS, the role involves collaboration with construction and discipline teams, field support, and adherence to DOE-related and nuclear industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in design and/or drafting with electrical focus.
• Proficiency with 3D design software: MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, SmartPlant 3D.
• DOE or commercial nuclear industry experience preferred.
• U.S. Citizen; able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to designers and engineers.
• Review design work and resolve drafting issues.
• Develop solutions for discrepancies and constructability concerns.
• Manage multiple assignments with quality, budget, and schedule.
• Serve as a field resource supporting construction teams.
• Apply industry standards to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for design innovation and efficiency.
• Evaluate alternatives for cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to improve constructability.
• Communicate design intent and ensure consistency across documents.
• Prepare instrument location plans and wiring diagrams and installation details.
• Develop instrument installation drawings and specify requirements.
• Support design reviews and coordination across teams.
