Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a motivated R&D Systems Engineer for the Nuclear Deterrence field program. You will serve as the operational and technical interface among NNSA, DoW, and Sandia to sustain or modernize nuclear weapons in the field.

On a typical day you will plan and execute fielded equipment activities, coordinate with DoW and NNSA leads, and work with other labs to resolve issues and improve stockpile readiness. Travel and on-site presence in Albuquerque, NM are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 5+ years of directly relevant experience.
• DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent DoW Top Secret with ability to obtain additional clearances.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational and technical interface between NNSA, DoW and DoW for field sustainment or modernization of nuclear weapons.
• Plan, develop, and execute activities delivering and fielding nuclear weapons related equipment and hands-on operations.
• Collaborate with multiple labs and agencies to resolve issues, enable improvements, and manage spares.
