Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Nuclear Engineer SME to support critical national security missions in Reston, VA. Lead assessments, reverse engineering of protective measures, and identify vulnerabilities across facilities and supply chains using physics-based modeling and all-source intelligence integration.

The role requires a Master’s with 15+ years or a PhD with 13+ years, and an active TS/SCI clearance. Expect high-impact work in a secure government facility with senior stakeholder briefings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Doctorate with 13+ years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI Polygraph clearance required; U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in nuclear engineering, effects, and counterproliferation analysis.
• Conduct high-fidelity reverse-engineering assessments of facilities, stockpiles, and supply chains.
• Analyze effects of nuclear weapons on facilities, infrastructure, and operations.
• Employ multi-physics modeling and simulation to assess degradation from weapons effects.
• Integrate GEOINT, SIGINT, OSINT to assess capabilities and timelines.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for senior stakeholders and review boards.
