Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. seeks a Sr. Nuclear Construction Specialist to join the Los Alamos National Laboratory program in Los Alamos, NM.

This full-time role focuses on overseeing deactivation and decommissioning, construction, and modernization at TA-55, ensuring safety, schedule, and regulatory compliance. You will lead field execution, coordinate resources, manage subcontractors, participate in readiness reviews and investigations, and drive continuous improvement in a highly regulated nuclear

Qualifications

• Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a technical discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Citizenship – United States citizen due to federal nature of work.
• Clearance – ability to obtain and maintain government clearance if needed.
• Experience coordinating technical activities, operational projects, or construction activities in a complex work environment.
• Experience with work planning, work readiness, field execution, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to provide field oversight, coordinate personnel and resources, and resolve complex operational issues.
• Ability to support safety, quality assurance, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance in a nuclear/industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, operational coordination, and field oversight for D&D, construction, and modernization activities at TA-55.
• Ensure deliverables are completed safely, securely, accurately, and on schedule within a Hazard Category 2 nuclear facility.
• Coordinate work readiness, staffing, resources, and field execution across multiple groups.
• Provide oversight of personnel and subcontractors, resolve complex operational issues, support planning and budgeting, and ensure documentation.
• Support activity approvals, readiness reviews, incident investigations, corrective actions, compliance assessments, training, and continuous process improvements.
