Job summary

TerraPower is seeking a seasoned Commissioning Engineer III to coordinate multi-team efforts in advancing advanced nuclear reactor projects and medical isotope production initiatives. You will lead commissioning programs, develop schedules, ensure safety and regulatory alignment, and drive optimization of plant operations throughout lifecycle.

The role requires deep nuclear engineering expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary tasks with minimal direction.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Nuclear or Mechanical or Electrical engineering from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of direct nuclear power plant commissioning experience on safety-related systems.
• 5+ years operating experience in commercial nuclear reactors; Senior Reactor Operator or equivalent preferred.
• Experience developing commissioning administrative processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate geographically diverse design and commissioning team members.
• Develop and implement commissioning administrative programs.
• Create an integrated plant commissioning schedule across organizations.
• Provide SME guidance on regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
• Apply engineering principles to design of nuclear facilities and systems.
• Lead commissioning and design efforts to evaluate plant control and transient responses.
• Support project teams and contractors through oversight and interfaces.
• Promote continuous learning and apply nuclear industry best practices.
• Support licensing activities related to Safety Analysis.
• Lead nuclear island commissioning programs to ensure testing meets design criteria.
