Job summary

The Gates Foundation in Seattle is seeking a Senior Program Officer for Integrated Surveillance for NTDs. You will lead the PES strategy, drive evidence-based investments, and coordinate across Upstream and Downstream teams to advance national and global surveillance efforts.

This role requires a track record in global health, strong engagement with ministries, and a commitment to health equity. You will manage a portfolio of operational research, collaborate with partners like WHO and AFRO, and

Qualifications

Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MPH, or equivalent) in epidemiology, public health, infectious disease, or related field.
10+ years of experience in global health with proven expertise in NTD or other campaign-based health programs.
Experience collaborating with Ministries of Health and national public health institutes in Africa.
Proven ability to design and lead operational studies and to translate evidence into investment strategy.

Responsibilities

Develop and steward an evidence-based PES strategy for six priority NTDs.
Lead a portfolio of operational research addressing technical and operational gaps in NTD surveillance integration.
Collaborate with Upstream and Downstream teams to align surveillance innovations with program delivery.
Represent the foundation in high-level forums with donors and partners to drive co-investment and shared standards.
