Job summary

Nakupuna Companies seeks a Surveillance and Population-Based Survey Advisor to support U.S. Department of State global health priorities and foreign assistance programming under the America First Global Health Strategy.

The Advisor will provide technical leadership for integrated disease surveillance and population-based survey activities across priority health areas, including maternal and child health, malaria, tuberculosis, and emerging infectious diseases.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of epidemiology and population-based surveys.
• Ability to translate health data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience designing and reviewing survey protocols and SOPs.
• Experience with population-based surveys (DHS/MICS/MIS/SPA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for country-led surveillance systems and surveys across priority health areas.
• Design, review, and support implementation of population-based and behavioral surveys, including sampling and data collection.
• Develop cost-effective surveillance strategies aligned with national health priorities.
• Analyze surveillance and survey data to identify trends and inform decisions.
• Coordinate input across interagency stakeholders and partners.
• Provide training and capacity building to country teams and local counterparts.
• Prepare technical reviews and briefings for leadership.
