Job summary

Abile Group, Inc. seeks a Senior NSX Engineer for a 10-year contract to deliver user facing and data center IT services across multiple networks and security domains for an Intelligence Community customer.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on NSX and VMware vSphere experience, TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance, and strong networking and security skills. On-site support across secure environments is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on VMware NSX experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• 5+ years of VMware vSphere experience including ESXi, vCenter, VDS, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Designs, deploys, configures, operates, and sustains NSX-T / VMware Cloud Foundation networking across environments.
• Engineers NSX Manager clusters, transport nodes/profiles, transport zones, uplink profiles, and NSX Edge clusters.
• Designs and administers overlay and VLAN-backed segments, Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways, and distributed routing.
• Implements microsegmentation and Zero Trust controls using distributed firewall, security groups, and policy-based security.
• Develops auditable, least-privilege firewall policies with cybersecurity and RMF involvement.
• Integrates NSX with vCenter, vSphere, VCF, vSAN, and enterprise monitoring platforms.
• Troubleshoots BGP/routing adjacency, MTU/TEP/Geneve issues, asymmetric routing, and NSX Edge failures.
• Performs packet-level analysis using NSX CLI, vmkping, pktcap-uw, tcpdump-uw, Traceflow, and flow monitoring.
• Leads NSX upgrades, patching, certificate replacement, migrations, and backup/recovery planning.
• Maintains diagrams, runbooks, firewall matrices, and provides Tier 3 escalation support.
