Job summary

NorthHill Technology Resources is seeking a Senior NSX Engineer to design, implement, and operate VMware NSX in a DoD environment in Springfield, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required, with sponsorship for a polygraph within the first year.

The role covers full NSX lifecycle from architecture to incident resolution, collaborating with network, cybersecurity, and program teams. Requires 5+ years in NSX, vSphere, and DoD processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, operating, or supporting VMware NSX.
• Experience with NSX-T / VMware Cloud Foundation Networking capabilities including overlay/VLAN segments and Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways.
• Strong DoD security, RMF, and change-control experience in a regulated environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diagrams, plans, and status updates.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and sustain NSX-T/VCF networking solutions.
• Manage NSX-Mgrs, transport nodes, and edge clusters; ensure secure, optimized deployment.
• Implement microsegmentation and zero-trust controls; maintain firewall rules and policies.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, RMF, and network teams for policy review and audit readiness.
• Lead upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management with minimal risk.
