Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, validate, and continuously improve low-volume manufacturing and testing of complex robotic capital equipment used for minimally invasive robotically assisted surgery.

You will participate in sustaining and new product development teams, support manufacturing lines, develop equipment, refine electro-mechanical components, and create robust process documentation and testing methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in a manufacturing or design-related role, or 5 years with MS in technical discipline.
• Mechanical Design / Tool Design experience.
• Strong 3D CAD and Solid Modeling skills (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with data analysis and process controls (Six-Sigma, CpK, ANOVA, DOE).
• Ability to travel to suppliers or Intuitive sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, qualify, release, and implement tools, fixtures, and processes.
• Resolve failures and identify root causes to improve yield.
• Assist in design reviews with a focus on DFX methods.
• Write validation protocols for equipment and PPQ for line qualification.
• Create and revise work instructions and train manufacturing teams.
• Analyze data for CpK and process capability; drive improvements.
• Support supplier engineering, purchasing, planning and quality teams.
• Create and revise PFMEA and risk management documents.
