Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Senior New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to partner with merchandising and private brands teams on benchmarking, product requirements, and cost analyses across categories. You will leverage BOMs and internal data to evaluate raw materials, manufacturing, labor, logistics and total product cost.

In this role you will conduct engineering evaluations to estimate component and assembly costs, communicate findings to stakeholders, and deliver value-driven designs

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of work experience.
Preferred MBA and product costing experience.
Experience with Bills of Materials and costing practices.
Experience with OEM suppliers and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

50% Engineering project management including benchmarking, product requirement development, and test protocol development
30% Conduct financial and value based calculations, summarize findings for business, present to stakeholders
10% Resolve product performance concerns
10% Provide engineering guidance to deliver short-term business goals
