Job summary

Arabella Advisors is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to manage full-cycle payroll for multiple nonprofit projects. You will collaborate with HR and Managed Organization teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting for 600 employees.

The role requires five years of payroll experience and proficiency in Excel, Ultimate Software, and Great Plains. A strong client service mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of payroll experience in a payroll office or department.
• Experience with nonprofit/philanthropy accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel, Ultimate Software and Great Plains (GP).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate semi-monthly payroll for 600 employees with HR and Managed Organization teams.
• Analyze monthly payroll journal entries for reasonableness and anomalies.
• Reconcile payroll and benefit providers’ billing invoices and schedules.
• Prepare entries to record payroll costs in the general ledger.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy.
• Research and advise on complex payroll transactions.
• Develop and document payroll best practices and processes.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for payroll activity.
