Preferred Behavioral Health Group is seeking a seasoned Comptroller to lead our finance operations from Office 52 Hyers Street, Toms River. You will partner with the CFO to manage annual budgets, financial statements, and cash flow, while supervising A/P and ensuring regulatory compliance across programs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 10 years of nonprofit accounting experience, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Experience: 10 years’ experience in Non-Profit Accounting and Financial Management strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to and collaborates with the CFO.
• Coordinates the preparation of the annual budgets for the consolidated PBHG, budget modifications, ROE’s, and monthly financial statements.
• Supervises Accounts Payable operations to ensure timely payments.
• Oversees Cash Management (Cash On Hand) and provides weekly reports to the CFO.
• Interfacing with State of NJ, funders, outside auditors, and program staff for compliance.
• Maintains organized records/files and attends funder meetings as required.
• Prepares work papers for fiscal year-end and coordinates with auditors to avoid material findings.
• Ensures the State-mandated budget matrix is accurate and updated.
• Works with CFO to prepare analytical reports for the Executive Director and Board.
• Oversees revenue collection from fee-for-service funding sources.
• Performs duties with minimal supervision and maintains relationships with program directors and senior staff.
