Job summary

WGL Holdings, Inc. in Vienna, VA seeks a Sr. Corporate Accountant (Non-Utility) to record and analyze transactions for GAAP reporting and to assist with the monthly close and consolidation of non-utility entities.

You will implement new processes, maintain GL accounts, and support audits while interfacing with operations on power and gas activities. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and 5+ years of relevant experience, with CPA/MBA preferred and Power Plant asset system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• 5+ years of related accounting experience with GAAP/FASB and SOX knowledge.
• Experience with financial reporting, consolidation, and audits.
• Proficient in Excel and Access; familiarity with PeopleSoft is a plus.
• Public utility/energy experience and CPA/MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and analyze transactions for GAAP financial reporting.
• Support monthly close, review statements and variances.
• Assist with consolidation and stand-alone audits of entities.
• Engage in process improvements and GL infrastructure enhancements.
• Coordinate with operations and teams to ensure accurate reporting.
