Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. is seeking a Senior Accountant to record and analyze transactions for GAAP financial reporting, support the close process, and help build new general ledger infrastructure within the power and gas segments. You will reconcile accounts, improve workflows, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience, with strong Excel skills and experience in financial systems such as PeopleSoft. A CPA or MBA is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of related business experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP/FASB, SOX, and SEC regulations.
Demonstrated ability to improve processes using technology.

Responsibilities

Record and analyze transactions for GAAP financial reporting.
Support monthly close and analyze variances for accuracy and timeliness.
Assist with development of workflow, systems, and processes improvements.
Prepare consolidated statements and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure SOX compliance and assist with audits and disclosures.
