Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. is seeking an accounting professional to record and analyze GAAP transactions and help implement new general ledger infrastructure.

You will support the monthly close for non-utility activities in power and gas segments, perform reconciliations, review variances, and assist with consolidation and SOX compliance while coordinating with the operations team. The role emphasizes accurate reporting, process improvements, and collaboration across entities to ensure timely financial

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline is required.
5+ Years of related business experience.
CPA or MBA with a concentration in Accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

Record and analyze transactions for GAAP reporting and assist with new GL infrastructure.
Support monthly close for non-utility activities in power/gas segments; analyze statements and variances.
Assist in developing workflows and processes improvements.
Understand contracts related to power, O&M, EPC and joint ventures for proper accounting.
Participate in monthly due diligence meetings and consolidate financial results.
Assist in stand-alone audits and prepare consolidated financial statements and disclosures.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
