Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Node/JS Java Developer to build and maintain APIs and middleware for a mobile services platform. The role involves integrating applications, databases, and web/mobile systems while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The base salary for Menlo Park, CA ranges $115k–$120k/year plus benefits, with a strong emphasis on Java, JavaScript, and enterprise integration expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong OO programming, design patterns, CI/CD & SOA.
• Hands-on Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, TypeScript, Node.js, Kafka, ActiveMQ.
• Experience with J2EE, Servlets, Tomcat, and Maven-based development.
• Strong experience developing APIs and web services using REST, SOAP & JSON.
• Proficient with Oracle, DB2 or Sybase databases.
• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable, reliable, and high‑performance backend and integration solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional and enterprise technology environment.
• Experience supporting mobile, digital, or customer‑facing platform integrations.
• Experience mentoring and guiding other developers.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain middle-layer services using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, and/or C#/.NET.
• Build and support APIs and web services that enable integration across web, mobile, and backend platforms.
• Collaborate with PMO, Development, Product Management, Business, Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Network, and Architecture teams.
• Draft and review architectural diagrams, technical specifications, business requirements, and design documents.
• Work within Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open‑Source Platforms, and SOA environments.
• Contribute to next‑generation solution development by adopting and implementing new technologies.
• Develop robust, scalable, and high‑performing solutions that support business needs.
• Gain a strong understanding of financial products, services, workflows, and organizational structures to recommend effective solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team technical growth and best practices.
