Job summary

Leidos is seeking a NOC / SOC Shift Lead (2nd Shift) to serve as the senior technical authority for after-hours network operations and cybersecurity monitoring. The role blends NOC and SOC functions across DoD networks and requires daily on-site work at Langley AFB with core hours 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

The position emphasizes incident leadership, mentoring of junior technicians, and owning the shift turnover to ensure continuity with day-shift leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140/8570: IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE); CSSP Analyst-aligned certification preferred.
• 4+ years of hands-on IT security, network operations, or related field, including leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior point of contact for the 2nd shift NOC/SOC team, prioritizing alerts and ensuring coverage.
• Oversee SIEM and network performance dashboards to detect threats and outages.
• Lead triage of real incidents, direct diagnostics, and contain anomalies.
• Own escalation to Tier 2/3 engineering or Incident Responders; author shift-handover reports.
• Oversee routing/connectivity issue resolution, backups, and patch management during off-peak hours.
• Coach and train junior NOC/SOC technicians; review tickets and reports for accuracy.
