Job summary

Leidos is seeking a NOC/SOC Shift Lead (2nd Shift) to act as the senior authority for after-hours network operations and cybersecurity monitoring across DoD networks. The role blends NOC and SOC responsibilities and requires on-site work at Langley AFB with core hours 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

The incumbent will lead incident triage, supervise junior staff, manage shift handovers, and coordinate with day teams to ensure continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140/8570: IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE); CSSP Analyst-aligned cert strongly preferred.
• 4+ years hands-on experience in IT security or network operations, with some leadership.
• Proven ability to prioritize incidents and coordinate a small team during off-hours.
• Working proficiency with enterprise SIEM/EDR and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, SolarWinds).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior point of contact for the 2nd shift NOC/SOC team, assigning and prioritizing alerts and ensuring coverage.
• Oversee SIEM and network dashboards to detect threats and outages.
• Lead triage of incidents, direct diagnostics, and contain anomalies.
• Own escalation to Tier 2/3 and author detailed shift-handover reports.
• Oversee routing, connectivity issues, backups, and patch management during off-peak hours.
• Coach and train junior technicians and review tickets/reports for accuracy.
