Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in White Bear Lake, MN, is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician-Nitinol to provide advanced technical and engineering support for development, characterization, and manufacturing sustainment of new technology platforms.

You will act as a process-expert, focusing on Nitinol and Metals, with potential to support other departments and to travel to Fridley, MN as needed. Onsite position with opportunity for cross-site collaboration in a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
• Experience with Nitinol and Stainless‑Steel post processing (chemical processing, heat setting, micro‑blasting, or electropolishing).
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or OEM manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects through commercialization.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting positive customer and stakeholder experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, hands-on technical support for engineering and process development projects, requiring minimal engineering direction.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup, including preparation for long-term and scalable manufacturing.
• Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to define process strategies, resolve complex technical challenges, and make data-driven decisions.
• Develop, draft, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
• Establish and document process windows, process controls, and key operating parameters.
• Support the transition of new products and technologies from development into production, including training and coaching manufacturing personnel.
• Provide ongoing engineering and manufacturing support to optimize processes, tooling, and production performance through controlled and documented process changes.
• Utilize ERP, SPC, and related systems to support engineering activities, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, and shipment responsibilities.
• Provide technical support to Sales, Customers, and cross-functional teams as requested.
• Train and mentor technicians and other team members based on demonstrated expertise and experience.
• Maintain compliance with established quality systems, process change procedures, and documentation standards.
