Job summary

Heraeus Medevio in Minnesota seeks a Senior Engineering Technician - Nitinol to provide advanced technical support for development, characterization, and manufacturing sustainment of Nitinol-based platforms. This onsite role in White Bear Lake (with Fridley flexibility) requires expert problem solving and process documentation.

You will act as SME for equipment and processes, draft work instructions, and support product transitions to production, mentoring technicians and coordinating

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing or process development environment.
• Experience with Nitinol and Stainless-Steel post processing, strongly preferred (e.g. chemical processing, heat setting, micro-blasting, or electropolishing).
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or OEM manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP, SPC, and manufacturing documentation systems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex projects through commercialization.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting positive customer and stakeholder experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, hands-on technical support for engineering and process development projects, requiring minimal engineering direction.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for equipment, tooling, and manufacturing process setup, including preparation for long-term and scalable manufacturing.
• Apply structured problem-solving and critical thinking to define process strategies, resolve complex technical challenges, and make data-driven decisions.
• Develop, draft, and maintain manufacturing and process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, certification checklists, visual aids, and related materials.
• Establish and document process windows, process controls, and key operating parameters.
• Support the transition of new products and technologies from development into production, including training and coaching manufacturing personnel.
