Job summary

White & Case in Tampa seeks an experienced New Business Attorney to support matter opening and conflicts clearance. You will serve as a key contact for designated partners, handling complex matters including M&A, FINRA, litigation, waivers, and secondments.

The role requires independent judgment, interaction with OGC members, and mentoring of team members. You will collaborate across the global conflicts team operating nearly 24/7 and support training initiatives.

Qualifications

• This is an Attorney position requiring Florida bar admission in good standing.
• Three years’ experience as a professional Attorney, ideally in corporate or finance.
• Experience at a medium or large-sized law firm is preferred.
• International experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Advise fee earners and incoming lateral partners on conflicts issues and support global conflicts clearance.
• Partner with the OGC team to clear conflicts, draft waivers, obtain approvals and review engagement docs.
• Review global new-business submissions for ethical, regulatory, and commercial viability.
• Communicate conflict concerns and waiver requirements clearly to partners and leadership.
• Develop knowledge of conflicts-clearance protocols across corporate practices including PE, capital markets, bank finance, M&A, and restructuring.
• Support CNB and OGC training by developing conflicts-training materials.
• Serve as escalation point for CNB team and mentor colleagues.
• Assess searches and investigations and identify information needed for clearance.
• Assist with time-sensitive matter audits and remediation plans.
• Provide senior-level coverage outside standard business hours to support urgent requests.
