Job summary

Oklo Inc. is seeking a Senior Neutronics Engineer to develop analyses for isotope production reactor design, operation, and safety.

You will collaborate with thermal hydraulics, mechanical design, materials, isotope processing, operations, safety, and licensing teams to translate objectives into modeling requirements and produce defensible results. Responsibilities include core design/optimization with Monte Carlo and deterministic methods, development of MCNP/Serpent/SCALE models, and

Qualifications

• Fluency with Python.
• Proficiency with high performance computing systems.
• Proficiency with MCNP, SERPENT, or SCALE (TRITON, KENO, SAMPLER, TSUNAMI, MAVRIC) is highly recommended.
• Bachelor's, Masters, or PhD in a technical field such as nuclear engineering with reactor design/analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactor core design and optimization using Monte Carlo methods; deterministic methods when appropriate.
• Develop models using MCNP, Serpent, and SCALE.
• Conduct depletion, burnup, reactivity evolution, and cycle optimization analyses.
• Evaluate core physics parameters and safety margins.
• Design irradiation targets to meet isotope yield and purity targets.
• Document assumptions, methods, results, and uncertainties in reports.
