Oklo, based in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a Senior Neutronics Engineer to develop and execute analyses supporting isotope production reactors. You will model core design, fuel cycles, shielding, and safety margins, collaborating with thermal hydraulics, materials, and safety teams.

This role emphasizes iterative, independent work in a growing isotope division. Key tasks include core design using Monte Carlo methods, code development with MCNP/Serpent/SCALE, depletion and burnup analyses, and

Qualifications

• Experience in reactor design and physics analyses is preferred.
• Bachelors/Masters/PhD in a technical field such as nuclear engineering.
• Fluency with Python and HPC systems.
• Proficiency with MCNP, SERPENT, or SCALE is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactor core design and optimization using Monte Carlo and deterministic methods.
• Develop models with MCNP, Serpent, and SCALE for core lifecycle analyses.
• Evaluate criticality safety margins and reactivity coefficients.
• Design irradiation targets to meet isotope production objectives.
• Create repeatable analysis workflows with QA and reproducibility.
• Collaborate across neutronics, thermal hydraulics, materials, and safety teams.
