Job summary

Oklo Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Isotopes team in a fast-growing clean-energy company focused on safe, scalable isotope production and advanced fission technologies.

You will design and analyze fluid and process systems, define equipment architecture, develop prototypes, and generate documentation for fabrication, commissioning, and regulatory filings. Travel to headquarters is required; remote work is limited by site visits and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering as listed above.
• 5+ years designing, analyzing, or modifying fluid, thermal, or process systems in nuclear or isotope industries.
• Strong understanding of systems design, integration, and equipment interfaces.
• Ability to apply process engineering to systems handling radioactive materials and chemical separations.

Responsibilities

• Design fluid and process systems for isotope production and related operations.
• Define process equipment architecture, specs, modes, and performance criteria.
• Develop prototypes for bench- or pilot-scale demonstrations.
• Create docs for layout, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance with contamination control considerations.
• Own assigned process systems and maintain design basis and performance.
• Prepare technical docs for regulatory filings and safety analyses.
• Collaborate with external vendors on equipment analysis, procurement, and testing.
• Maintain process flow diagrams and P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and operating envelopes.
• Support isotope product requirements including yield, purity, traceability, and contamination limits.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement risk reduction measures.
