TAE Technologies in Southern California is seeking an experienced engineer to design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum systems and beam dumps. You will design high‑voltage components and collaborate with physicists to integrate beamline elements.

Responsibilities include prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems, with 5–10 years in engineering and exposure to simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in design or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with one or more of the following: Charged particle beam systems, Plasma sources (ion sources), High‑voltage engineering, SolidWorks or Catia, COMSOL Multiphysics or ANSYS.
• 5–10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing).

Responsabilités

• Design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps.
• Design high‑voltage components (100 kV–1 MV class systems).
• Develop thermal management solutions for high‑power‑density components.
• Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector.
• Prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems.
