Job summary

Goldbelt Apex LLC, part of the Healthcare Technology Transformation Group, seeks a Preclinical Laboratory Researcher to conduct preclinical research, including behavioral assessment, pathophysiology, and molecular studies. You will manage data collection, literature integration, and experimental design.

Responsibilities include coordinating projects, performing surgical procedures on animal subjects, and evaluating neuroprotective therapies. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neurobiology or related field required/preferred.
• 3–5+ years in preclinical laboratory research with animal subjects.
• Experience with animal handling, aseptic procedures and surgical techniques.
• Experience with tissue preparation for light microscopy and data analysis software.
• Strong literature review, scientific writing and data management skills.
• Ability to coordinate research projects and lead research staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop research proposals aligned with military medical mission of Blast-Induced Neurotrauma research.
• Prepare protocols for animal use and human subject research objectives.
• Navigate IACUC/HURC to obtain approvals.
• Conduct literature reviews and develop summary reports on blast TBI and polytrauma.
• Coordinate research projects, including experimental design and direction of staff.
• Provide expertise in traumatic brain injury and polytrauma.
• Perform surgical procedures on animal subjects.
• Evaluate neuroprotective therapies using outcome measures.
• Perform quantitative analyses of molecular/cellular responses to stressors.
