This hands-on role requires working with research animals in a laboratory or preclinical setting, collaborating with scientific, veterinary, and research teams to execute studies. The successful candidate will have practical animal research experience, strong technical skills, and thorough documentation practices.

Qualificações

• Associate degree or higher in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology, or related life science.
• Hands-on experience with research animals in a laboratory, vivarium, or preclinical setting.
• Experience with animal handling, husbandry, health monitoring, and related procedures.
• Familiarity with anesthesia and aseptic techniques.
• Experience in rodent colony management preferred.
• GLP-regulated environment experience desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain documentation.
• On-site work in San Diego.

Responsabilidades

• Perform and support study-related procedures, including anesthesia, aseptic preparation, surgical assistance, sample collection, health monitoring, and necropsy activities.
• Monitor research animal health and promptly communicate relevant observations and welfare concerns to veterinary and scientific personnel.
• Support the receipt, transfer, identification, and routine management of research animals.
• Perform rodent colony management activities, including breeding, strain maintenance, genotyping, and genetic monitoring.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory and procedure spaces, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate study records and documentation in accordance with GLP requirements and site SOPs.
• Support study logistics, inventory management, supply ordering, and sponsor billing documentation.
• Collaborate with Research Services, Veterinary, and scientific teams to ensure efficient and high-quality study execution.
