Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Network Transport Team Lead to manage a large, multi-location engineering and operations team in support of a USCG program. The role is based on-site in Alexandria, VA, with travel to remote locations as needed.

You will guide network modernization, oversee Tier 2/3 operations, and ensure security compliance across NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments. Strong leadership and Cisco/Digital network expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher.
• Experience leading technical teams in enterprise networks.
• Strong understanding of SIPRNet and cryptographic services.
• Hands-on Cisco Routers/Switches CLI and device configurations.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and C2C concepts.
• Experience building lab/test environments for validation.
• Proven modernization lifecycle and compliance reporting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering and operations teams across multiple locations.
• Oversee 24/7/365 NIPRNet and SIPRNet operations and incident response.
• Approve, implement, and maintain network configurations for large deployments.
• Operate test environments to validate configurations before production.
• Direct daily network operations and deployment scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and federal standards.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, crypto devices, and transport issues.
• Use automated tools to streamline tasks and reporting.
• Maintain detailed network topologies and operation logs.
• Prepare and present deployment/status reports to leadership.
• Attend Change Control Board meetings as Network Team rep.
