Job summary

Broadcom’s Network Detection and Research Team (NDRT) is seeking an ICB5 Staff Engineer to advance network threat detection and intrustion prevention capabilities within the vDefend ATP solution. The role focuses on AI-driven research, scalable data collection, and signature development across large-scale data center environments.

The candidate will work with a global team, including leadership in London and offices in Palo Alto, collaborating across time zones to push forward state-of-the-art

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with extensive related experience.
• Strong experience and interest in network security and threat research.
• Understanding of IDPS concepts and IDS signature development.
• Experience with Python programming language.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Willingness to work with AI tools and agentic AI systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep-dive research into emerging network threats to keep IDPS capabilities ahead of adversaries.
• Architect and build AI-enabled security solutions for protecting virtual workloads in large-scale data centers.
• Analyze malicious traffic to design, prototype, and implement robust detection signatures.
• Construct and maintain scalable data collection infrastructures with automated feedback loops.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable, high-fidelity detection logic and signatures.
